Build A Bug

Create a personal unique and lasting piece of the Museum when you buy and Build-A-Bug!  Or give a Bug to inspire and engage someone special! Your personal bug, customized by you, will be part of a creative art piece permanently displayed in the garden at the Museum.

A wall of whimsical ceramic bugs, created by our supporters, will be showcased to Museum guests for generations to come.  Celebrate your family or leave a legacy for a loved one.

Each workshop will allow time to press clay into a bug mold (ant, beetle, ladybug, caterpillar, etc.) and accent it with additional features (antennas, eyes, horns, etc).  Following the creation of the bug, you will paint the clay with the colors provided to create your own unique art piece.

Following the workshops, CMOSC staff will fire your creation and install it on our bug mural that will permanently be displayed to view year round.  You will be available to visit your bug as soon as the Children’s Museum opens to the public!
