The Museum-on-the-Go presents the concept of air as a State of Matter. During the Museum visit, children observe, explore and investigate the properties of air through several hands-on exhibits and a facilitated activity. We begin each group session with three experiments demonstrated by the two Museum-on-the-Go educators. After a brief introduction to the hands-on exhibits, the students have approximately 20 minutes of free exploration. We end the group session with a closing demonstration followed by question and answers.
PROGRAM (Recommended for K - 4th grade)
45 minute session with up to 24 students
15 minute orientation
Independent exploration of hands-on experiences focused on "air"
MATERIALS PROVIDED: Exhibits: Bernoulli Blower, Hopper Popper, Bubble Sheet, Air Canon, Magnet Table, and Wind Wall. Materials to make and test flying contraptions in the Wind Tube.
Note: Exhibits are set up and broken down by museum staff. Exhibit and Curriculum packet and Teacher’s Guide are included for pre and post visit curriculum enhancement opportunities and sent prior to visit.
