The Great 2017 Train Days

August 5 & 6, 2017

Get out your engineer hat for the 3rd Annual Train Days Celebration! 

Join the Redwood Empire Garden Railway Society as they show off their model trains and buildings. Build your own train tracks in Mary's Garden, listen to train music, or hear a story about trains. If you love trains, then you won't want to miss this very special event.

Museum hours are 9am-4pm; Train Activities will be running: Saturday, August 5th from 10am - 4pm
Sunday, August 6th from 9am - 2pm

No Advance Tickets Required - Daily Museum Admission or Membership applies.

What are the hours of Train Days?

Will there be food available?

Coffee and other drinks will be available for purchase. Outside food and drink are allowed at designated picnic areas!

What is the cost to attend Train Days?

You can attend Train Days with just your museum admission of $12, members are free. There will be additional fees for concessions, face painting and the ride-on train. CASH ONLY!

Will I need my membership card or ID?

We will have a separate member check-in desk at the entrance to the museum, please bring your membership card with you to ensure faster check-in. If you bring guests with you, not covered by your membership, you will need to pay for them through the main entrance. If you are a current member of the train groups participating in this event, your name badge or membership card will allow you to enter admission free.

If your parking lot is full, where can I park?

Please park on the street, in the neighborhood or in the parking lot of the former T&B Sports at 2049 West Steele Lane. We encourage you to carpool if possible. We will have maps available to show the additional parking areas. Please do not park in the Schulz Museum parking lot.

What kind of activities will be at Train Days?

Enjoy a fun and educational day for your train-loving children! Build your own Brio train in our DIY train exhibit, ride on an actual live steamer train (for a $1 per ride donation) courtesy of the Redwood Empire Live Steamers, get up close to unique and elaborate model train displays courtesy of the Redwood Empire Garden Railway Society, The Diablo Pacific Short Line Interactive Train Display and the Bay Area Garden Railway Society. Listen to authentic train music, create your own train artwork and get your face painted with Clementine. Performances of live train music will be in the Dow Building at 10:30 and 12:30 and train art projects will be in the art studio at 11:30 and 1:30.
