How You Can Help the Children's Museum of the North Bay Grow?
The Children's Museum of Sonoma County has made tremendous progress so far. We need your help to make this dream come true.The most important quality we seek in our volunteers is reliability. Whether it's volunteering a couple of hours at a MUSEUM-ON-THE-GO booth event or heading up a committee, your help is greatly appreciated.
Museum-on-the-go Exhibit VP (Volunteer Playworker)
This is fun and easy. Basically, you attend a MUSEUM-ON-THE-GO Event for a couple of hours or more and help explain our exhibits to visitors and answer any questions about the progress of the museum. It's a great way to get acquainted with other volunteers and receive an up to date progress report on the museum. Plus, it's super fun!
Donation Seekers
We are looking for keen individuals to help us obtain donations from businesses in Sonoma, Marin, and Napa Counties. These could be for exhibit items, raffles, drawings, etc.
Promotion/Communications Support
We are looking for people with experience in promotions/communications to help with various aspects of promoting our Museum on the Go program. This includes things such as: media work; passing out promotional material such as posters, emails, and brochures; outreach to teachers and leaders of other groups.
Host a 'Evening of Discovery' Event:
Invite people you think are excited about the Children's Museum of Sonoma County. One or two board members will show up and make a spiffy presentation about the Children's Museum of Sonoma County.
You could suggest that your guests make a donation to the Children's Museum of Sonoma County, but the main purpose is to spread the word about our plans.
Send us a letter of support from yourself or your organization.
We are also collecting quotes of support to include in our Strategic Plan; please send us a sentence or a paragraph about why YOU think Sonoma needs the Children's Museum of Sonoma County.
Send us photos of happy kids at the MOG
Ages 0-12 that represent a range of ethnicity (electronic photos are best). We may use them for our web site, promotional material and exhibits, so please ensure there is parental consent to use the photos.
Spread the word about the Children's Museum of Sonoma County!
Tell your friends to check out the web site and sign up for our email list, include a blurb on the Children's Museum of Sonoma County in a newsletter you are affiliated with - anything to let folks know what we are up to!
Send us names (and contact info for) people with whom you think we need to talk to move the Children's Museum of Sonoma County forward.
