CMOSC was thrilled to receive generous commitments over the past few months, including:
Awareness Events
It’s a springtime full of house parties and events to help raise awareness and support for the Unlock Potential! capital campaign. We appreciate the CMOSC champions who are opening their homes and inviting friends to learn more about the campaign.
If you are interested in hosting a similar event or bringing someone on a tour of the Museum – please let us know.
Unlock Potential Campaign Video
Consider sharing our Unlock Potential! campaign video with friends and family. This short video highlights what’s magical about the Children’s Museum and makes the case for why expansion is critically needed now.
Exhibit Sneak Peek: Maker Space

Just upstairs from the immersive Delta’s Ocean Voyage exhibit profiled in our July UP! Campaign Update and next door to the Viva Arts! Studio showcased in November, is a robust and dynamic Maker Space guaranteed to inspire budding inventors, engineers, and dreamers to engage in real-world problem-solving.
Engaging for kids of all ages, the Maker Space will particularly captivate older children, ages 8 and up, who are eager to delve into hands-on learning and creative exploration.

This innovative space features individual Creator Cubbies where children can use actual tools – saws, hammers, pliers, and screws/nails – to construct whatever they can imagine. Self-confidence develops naturally as kids practice essential skills such as design, collaboration, and resourcefulness.
The Maker Space, emphasizing environmental sustainability, encourages young creators to experiment and build with repurposed materials in a safe and empowering environment. Project blueprints guide some to construct based on instructions, while others may prefer to create solely from their imaginations.
The Maker Space will also feature pop-up STEM-based programs, such as Roving Robotics and Energy Engineers. These activities allow children to explore new concepts and tools in an ever-changing environment designed to spark curiosity and learning.
Stay Tuned…
Stay tuned for an up-close look at a fabulous two-story indoor climbing structure highlighted in the next blog. Designed to delight kids and adults alike, the Climber will be a one-of-a-kind adventure…just like the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County!
If you know of someone who might be interested in learning more and going up, up, and away with us, please share this blog with them or have them contact us. We’d love to hear from them!
