Somewhere, in the depths of your pantry, may be an old bag of marshmallows. Instead of throwing that in the trash, utilize them to teach your children about science!

Activities & Options
Activity Option #1: Marshmallow Construction
- Set out the marshmallows and toothpicks
- Challenge your family members to become architects! Can they build:
- The tallest structure
- The largest structure
- The most creative structure
- Etc.
Activity Option #2: Roast-a-Marshmallow-with-a-Magnifying Glass:
- Each person needs a piece of aluminum foil, a marshmallow, a skewer, a magnifying glass
- Put the marshmallow on a skewer and hold it over the aluminum foil
- Using the magnifying glass, concentrate or diffuse the heat from the sun to roast their marshmallow to desired “doneness.”
- It goes without saying, but please be careful with this! Only do this with parental supervision.
