Family Access Membership

CMOSC strives to make the Museum accessible to all families. The Family Access program provides discounted memberships to income-eligible families.  These memberships are available through the generosity of our Family Access sponsors and committed donors.

A Family Access Membership is valid for 6 months and provides your family with the following benefits:

  • Free general admission for you and your partner/spouse living in your home
  • Free general admission for your dependent child(ren) under 18 years old
  • Free general admission for any related adults accompanying member child(ren)
  • Free general admission for one unrelated adult accompanying member child(ren)
  • Exclusive Members Only hours: Every Sunday, 9am - 11am
  • Discounts on birthday parties, camps and workshops

*Free admission is not available during blackout dates for fundraising events, or for admission to birthday parties or field trips.


Your family may be eligible for an Access Membership if any of the following circumstances apply:

  • Your family is currently receiving food stamps
  • Your family is currently receiving assistance from a social service organization
  • Your children receive free/reduced school lunches
  • Your family is receiving any other type of public assistance
  • You are disabled or receive SSI benefits
  • You are a teen parent
  • You are a foster parent

*Applicant must be a resident of Sonoma, Mendocino or Lake counties.

To Apply

Applications must include:

  • Signed, completed CMOSC application
  • A photocopy showing proof of eligibility/current participation in a listed program, dated within 60 days (see application for complete list)
  • $5.00 non-refundable processing fee

Applications for Family Access Memberships are accepted year-round and reviewed monthly. Please note: application for Family Access Membership and payment of processing fee does not guarantee membership. CMOSC has limited Access Memberships available and attempts to grant all requests, if possible. Families will be notified if their application has been approved within 2 months of submitting a completed application.
