Membership Frequently Asked Questions

How many people are free when I visit using my membership?

A cardholding adult member must be present to receive the membership benefits listed below, and will be counted as one of the visitors:

You+Me: 2 visitors
Fun Four: 4 visitors
Super Six: 6 visitors
Collaborator: 6 visitors
Innovator: 6 visitors

Note: Because we are a children’s museum, at least one child must be part of your group to enter the Museum.

Is there a discount if I bring more guests than are covered by my membership?

As a member, you get $2 off the regular admission rate for up to 6 additional guests.

Are there any days or times that my membership will not allow me free entry?

Memberships do not provide admission to select events, although discounts may be available.
Membership does not cover admission to birthday parties as guests or hosts.

How do I check in with my membership?

Information on our digital member card is coming soon! In the mean time, the named member can present photo ID at the Front Desk and the attendant will help check you in. If you need proof of your membership to use your ACM benefits at another museum, contact us at members@cmosc.org.

My child’s friend is having a birthday party at the Museum.  Can I use my membership to check in for the birthday party?

Membership is not valid for admission to birthday parties, whether as guests or party hosts. Birthday areas and activities are exclusively for party hosts and their guests and are not open or available to members or the general public.

My child’s school is visiting the Museum and I am one of the chaperones. Can I use my membership to check myself in?

Yes, you may check yourself in at the Front Desk using your membership.

I came to the Museum this weekend and paid general admission. Can I apply the cost of my admission towards buying a membership?

Yes, you have 14 days to apply your admission purchase to a membership at the Front Desk or over the phone at 707-546-4069, during regular business hours. Save your admission receipt or have your order number ready. We will apply only the number of admissions covered by the membership level you choose.

I purchased a six-month membership. Can I upgrade it to a year?

The length of membership may only be upgraded at the Front Desk or over the phone within one month of purchase.

I purchased a You+Me membership. Can I upgrade it to a higher level?

The membership level may only be upgraded at the Front Desk or over the phone.
Note: Upgrading membership levels does not extend the length of the membership; it adds benefits for the remainder of your original membership term.

Can I get a refund on my membership?

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our memberships are non-refundable.  Thank you for your support and understanding.

Can I transfer my membership to someone else if I move out of the area?

Membership benefits are non-transferable and may not be re-sold. The membership may only be used by the members named at purchase. You can continue to use your ACM reciprocal benefits at participating museums for the remainder of your membership year.

Can I purchase a membership for someone else?

You may purchase a membership for someone else as a gift. You will need to provide their name and contact information at the time of purchase. Memberships cannot be transferred or re-sold.

Does the Museum still offer physical membership cards?

At this time, the Children’s Museum is only issuing digital membership cards by e-mail. The member can print the cards or download them to their phone or digital wallet. Valid photo ID may also be presented for check-in.

What is the ACM reciprocal network?

ACM stands for the Association of Children’s Museums. Children’s Museum members with a Fun Four or higher membership level can present their Children’s Museum membership card or proof of membership email at any of the 200 reciprocal museums across the country to receive 50% off general admission for up to six people, including the cardholder. For a complete list of ACM Reciprocal museums, check out Find A Children’s Museum.

Will I be notified when my membership is expiring?

We will notify you via email (be sure to check your spam folders) a month before your membership expires.

Is my membership tax-deductible?

Please consult your tax professional.

I still have additional questions.  Who do I ask?

You are welcome to speak to the front desk team in person, or to contact us via email at members@cmosc.org, or by phone during regular business hours at (707) 546-4069.
