Sorting Station

♥ Sponsored by Recology Sonoma-Marin.

Welcome to the Sorting Station, a playful, hands-on exhibit where kids become recycling heroes. Designed for curious little learners, the Sorting Station combines pretend play, simple machinery, and real-world learning to teach where our waste goes — and how we can make smarter choices for the planet.

Perfect for curious young learners, Sorting Station makes sustainability easy to understand through movement, role-play, and interactive fun.

What You Can Do

🚛 Drive a mini collection truck
Suit up with a hard hat and safety vest and pretend you’re picking up recycling around the neighborhood.

♻️ Sort it out
Test your skills by deciding what goes in recycling, compost, or landfill bins.

⚙️ Run the conveyor belt
Turn the crank, move materials along, and see how the sorting process works.

🌎 Follow the journey
Discover what happens to materials after they’re collected—and how small choices help the planet.

Why Kids Love It

Sorting Station makes big environmental ideas simple, hands-on, and fun. Through play, children learn how everyday actions can make a big difference—and that taking care of our world can be an adventure.
