Day-Camps

Day-Camps make school breaks unforgettable! Day-Camps at the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County invite young explorers to dive into hands-on learning in art, science, and imagination. Each Day-Camp is designed to spark curiosity and creativity – making school breaks a time to play, discover, and wonder!

Let’s Learn Together!

Children’s Museum of Sonoma County is a safe, fun, creative, and friendly environment, the perfect setting for kids to learn new skills!

Each 7-hour Day-Camps (8:30am – 3:15pm) might have a different central activity, but all are hands-on playful opportunities to learn, practice, make friends, and improve their skills.

Every Day-Camp is designed with child development in mind, to help kids build confidence, emotional intelligence, and other lifelong skills. Day-Camps are designed for children 6-12 years old. Day-Camps fill up fast, so register first for those you and your child want most. Drop-off takes place between 8:30am-9:00am. We settle in, introduce ourselves, and start the lesson promptly, so please make sure to arrive on time for the full experience!

We’ll be learning and creating in a kid-led Reggio Emilia style with breaks for free play as needed. Our main goal is to have fun!

Pick-up will take place between 3:00pm-3:15pm. All children must be picked up by 3:15pm.

Day-Camp FAQs

Day-Camps are designed to create an educational environment for children to engage in an activity with their peers. Children will learn from an experienced guide supported by staff and volunteers.

Children will be encouraged to engage in the designated activity in the Dow Event Center nextdoor to the Art Studio. However, the group may go on a “field trip” next door to the Schulz Baseball Field should the group need a break for more physical play. Field trips will be decided based on the group’s collective interest and need.

We do not have a waitlist available for our Day-Camps at this time.

The Museum does not provide snacks or lunch for participants of Day-Camps. Please send a nut-free snack and packed lunch that does not need to be reheated with your child. The Museum cannot provide food for participants of Day-Camps and will call the caregiver should the child be hungry with no snack.

The Museum will attempt to maintain but cannot guarantee a 100% nut-free environment.

• A reusable water bottle

• A snack (nothing that needs to be reheated)

• Packed lunch (the Museum offers refrigeration but not re-heating of food)

• Weather appropriate clothing

• A jacket / layers (we may play outside for a break!)

The Museum is not responsible for any personal items lost or stolen at our programs. We recommend writing your child’s name on all personal items and leaving sentimental objects and toys at home. Lost items that are found and/or claimed will be kept at the Museum for a period of 1 month before being donated.

Day-Camps begin at $90 per session for non-members and $81 for Museum Members. Prices for certain Day-Camps may be higher due to the materials or timeframe needed to provide a truly wonder-filled experience.

Yes! Your child and one adult have admission to the museum after your Day-Camp ends if you would like to stay and play.

If you return to the museum with other adults and/or children, they need to pay daily admission or check in under their membership at our front desk. The Museum closes at 4:00pm.

*Please note the Museum is closed to the public on Tuesdays. We ask that your children leave the Museum after Day-Camps on Tuesdays. Our team will be in to provide a safe space for Day-Camps.

All children enrolled in workshops must be within the designated age range to sign up for the Day-Camps of their choice.

Curriculum and activities are created specifically for children within the designated age ranges so they may learn, collaborate, and communicate more effectively. We ask that each Day-Camps age range be followed to provide the best possible experience for all children attending. Unfortunately, we cannot make exceptions for children outside of the designated age range.

Younger children who are excited about one of our Day-Camps can join us when they’re ready!

Pick-Up must happen no later than 30 minutes after your Day-Camps end time. A $1 per minute charge will apply for every additional minute past pick-up time a child remains in our care.

Attempts will be made to contact the caregiver(s) on the child’s sign-up form at the phone number(s) provided should a child not be picked-up within the designated timeframe. Should the caregiver(s) be unreachable, authorities will be called to assist if more than 30 minutes pass after the Workshop end time.

Multiple Drop-Offs and Pick-Ups are not permitted. Once a child is picked up, the child may not return to the same Workshop on the same day.

Caregivers may not stay with their child during a Day-Camp unless they sign a volunteer waiver and assume the role of a Day-Camp assistant. Siblings and additional children who are not signed up for a Day-Camps cannot attend the day-camp with a volunteering caregiver.

Is your child interested in something different from what we currently provide? Let us know! Make suggestions on what you’d like to see at camps@cmosc.org so we know exactly what our community is interested in.

We’re always looking for motivated, passionate, and skilled volunteers to help. If you’re interested in volunteering to help with a Day-Camp, contact volunteers@cmosc.org or sign up here.
