Current Volunteering Opportunities
Opportunity Type: Train Day Volunteers
Dates: Saturday, August 5th and Sunday, August 6th
Time Frame: 8am-12pm and/or 12pm-4pm on Saturday and/or Sunday
Job Description: Train Day is back and we need volunteer help to make this special event happen. This special day will consist of train-themed activities and entertainment including a special ride-on train! Tasks will include: managing activities, directing parking lot traffic, and engaging with guests on the Museum floor. This is event is going to be a whole lot of fun!
Opportunity Type: Museum Docent
Date(s): Any Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun
Time Frame: Any hour increment between the hours of 8:30am and 4pm
Job Description: The primary duties of this role include interacting with guests on the Museum floor, enforcing rules and policies, answering basic questions posed by guests, explaining the science behind exhibits, assisting guests in the art studio, assisting Playologists with programming when needed, and helping to ensure that guests are enjoying their visit to the Museum.
Potential Physical Requirements of Volunteers
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds
- Comfortable being indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to bend and kneel easily
- Ability to make eye contact and smile – repeatedly

Transformation Tuesdays COMING SOON!
The first Tuesday of each month is reserved for companies wishing to book group volunteer projects at the Museum for their employees. Tasks can range from general maintenance, to site clean-up, to special events, to helping install exhibits. Please email email@example.com for more information about upcoming needs at the Museum.
