One of our members perfectly captures the diverse appeal of our exhibits remarking: “One of my kids is really into the space room, with all the buttons to push and how interactive it is. Other kids really love all the trains, and the mini-train town as well. Almost all my kids across the board really like the outdoor areas with water; either at the table station or down in the gravel pit is a must for everyone. Also, the garden too, watering the garden has become a really big thing for a lot of them.”

Play isn’t just about fun – it’s a cornerstone of a child’s development. Through play, children become self-guided explorers, creative storytellers, and intuitive problem solvers, all at once. They unravel the world’s secrets by building, tinkering, and experimenting.

As one member shares, “The educational opportunities, at the Museum, exploring through play, and even just sharing space and toys with other kids is so amazing. It’s on the same level as a preschool honestly. It’s not talked about enough how the isolation from the pandemic affected young kids, so the museum has really been a blessing for our family.”
– Dominic W.

Another Museum member echoes this sentiment, highlighting how the Children’s Museum “has helped their children’s creativity and their power to exercise choice. It’s also really improved their coordination and ability to play well with other kids.”
– Dana B.

Play is a child’s superpower, building strong bodies, creative minds, and the confidence to try new things and practice valuable skills. It’s teamwork, problem-solving, and endless discovery – all wrapped up in one giant playground of possibility.

Building a Vibrant Community

At the Museum, kids aren’t just playing, they’re building friendships and social skills. They share, take turns, and collaborate to dream up their own creative games and activities, turning playtime into a shared learning adventure. Families come together, forging lasting bonds that extend far beyond the museum walls as they witness the joy and wonder of their little learner’s explorations.

A Museum member beautifully captures this saying:
“Just being surrounded by other kids from the beginning of his development was super beneficial. Having the Children’s Museum and being able to be in that environment, he was not lacking in social interactions. Having that opportunity was super helpful for me as well. It was helpful to connect with other parents in that space. I was able to make friends and talk about different parenting techniques. I just love the community that’s been created for us at the museum.”
– Chad V.

At the Children’s Museum, we are proud to have built such a vibrant community hub alongside our members. The Museum will always be a place for families to connect as children learn and play with each other, and a sense of belonging is fostered, one playful moment at a time.
