SANTA ROSA, CA – The Children’s Museum of Sonoma County (CMOSC) is excited to announce the SPONSORSHIP of a new lactation support area called the SERENITY ROOM by KAISER PERMANENTE SANTA ROSA. CMOSC Founder and CEO, Collette Michaud notes, “the Children’s Museum is delighted to partner with Kaiser Permanente to improve the well-being of thousands of Museum visitors annually and demonstrate our shared commitment to maternal health and child development.”
Designed with the needs of nursing parents and providing a quiet, calming environment for children who need a break from stimulation, this dedicated space adjacent to TOTopia (the Museum’s infant/toddler exhibit) will enhance visitor comfort and promote inclusivity. The Serenity Room will support activities such as breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, expressing milk, and providing a calming environment for sensory regulation.

While construction is underway on the permanent Serenity Room (which is expected to open in late 2026), a pop-up “Kaiser Permanente Family Support Tent” during the Museum’s FUNtazmagoria event in October 2025 will offer a comfortable, private place for lactation/bottle-feeding and calm-down space for children and their caregivers. The Family Support Tent will also preview the design for the permanent Serenity Room space.
The Children’s Museum of Sonoma County is located at 1835 W. Steele Lane in Santa Rosa. Daily Admission or Membership is required to visit.
