Looking Back: A Testament to How Far We’ve Come
The Unlock Potential (UP!) Capital Campaign is a community-driven initiative to bring the profound power of playful learning experiences to more families throughout Sonoma County. The campaign was originally launched in 2022 with the goal of raising $15 million to expand the museum. Since the UP! campaign’s inception, we’ve been truly honored by the outpouring of support from our community.
However, in 2025, circumstances changed. Due to rising construction costs and shifts in available funding, our vision and strategy had to evolve, necessitating the splitting of the campaign into two phases. A shifting political landscape paused some key sources of public funding, further prompting us to reimagine our path forward with renewed creativity and resilience. We are excitedly working on an $8 million campaign that features a new 7,400 sf two-story building, which will more than double the size of the Museum. This post serves as a look back at the progress to date. Previous campaign updates have been archived, but we’re proud to share some key milestones here as a historical record together on this important journey to improve the lives of children and families in Sonoma County and beyond.
