Large Volunteer Event at the Children’s Museum Pulls in Local Community Partnerships

Santa Rosa, CA–(April 17) Children’s Museum of Sonoma County is collaborating with Santa Rosa Taco Tuesday Ride and the Active 20-30 Club of Santa Rosa, to host volunteer work parties at the Children’s Museum (1835 W Steele Ln, Santa Rosa, CA 95403). The first party was on Sunday April 21st from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Fifty to one hundred volunteers were expected, and members of the public were invited to join.

Volunteers at the Museum

Dinner and snacks were provided to all volunteers. Volunteers did yard work, painted, fixed things, and cleaned the Museum and its many interactive exhibits for children. This refurbishment of the Museum was preparation for the Museum’s Annual fundraising gala, Time to Wonder. Funding for Time to Wonder supports the Access for All program, subsidizes school visits for more than 3,000 students annually, and underwrites the playful learning experiences that are core to the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County.

Before the volunteer work party, Santa Rosa Taco Tuesday Ride organized a group bike ride from Franklin Park (King St at Silva Ave) to the Museum (arriving before 4pm). This group rode back to Franklin Park after 7pm. Leaders of Santa Rosa Taco Tuesday Ride, members of the North Bay Kruzers organization, are experienced at using their beautiful custom bicycles to safely guide groups of bikers through Santa Rosa’s streets. The Active 20-30 Club of Santa Rosa provides young adults of Sonoma County opportunities to improve the lives of underserved children in our community.

The Children’s Museum of Sonoma County inspires curiosity and creativity through joyful, transformative experiences, and serves over 200K community members each year through visitation and outreach. Santa Rosa Taco Tuesday Ride provides safe active outdoor experiences to North Bay families through organized bike rides. These three organizations have been drawn to collaborate due to their mutual dedication to volunteerism serving kids and their families. Collette Michaud, CEO & Founder, “The Children’s Museum is happy to partner with the Active 20-30 Club of Santa Rosa and the North Bay Kruzers Organization. This volunteer event is working toward our strategic goal of collaborating with local organizations who share in the common mission to serve the community.
