Indoor Fort Building For Kids

children playing in a indoor fort building made with blankets in their living room

A Fun Activity for Kids of All Ages

Indoor Fort Building is an age-old favorite amongst children of all ages.

Materials

  • Blankets
  • Pillows
  • Scraps of fabric
  • Towels
  • Tape
  • Flashlight – optional
  • Sleeping bag – optional

Indoor Fort Building Directions:

Set aside an area in your living room or spare room if you have one. Someplace besides your child’s room. It has to feel special and a bit verboten. Make sure any breakable objects are put away. Then simply provide your child with plenty of blankets, pillows, scraps of fabric, and towels along with a healthy bit of tape. Be prepared for things to get messy and perhaps a bit disheveled looking. Your reward will hopefully be hours and hours of your child disappearing into their imaginations while they happily create worlds…without you! Throw a sleeping bag and flashlight into it and let your child spend the night in their new world after reading them a bedtime story.
